Dear Brothers,

As we journey together under the banner of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc, let us remember the profound wisdom encapsulated in our motto: “Friendship is Essential to the Soul.” This phrase is more than just words; it is a guiding principle that has shaped our fraternity since its inception.

Friendship, as we know it, is not merely about camaraderie or shared experiences. It is about lifting each other up, supporting one another through life’s trials, and celebrating each other’s triumphs. It is about being there when words are inadequate, offering a hand or a shoulder in times of need.

As Chaplain, I am reminded daily of the power of friendship and brotherhood. Our fraternity was founded on the pillars of Manhood ,Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. But at the heart of these pillars lies friendship—a bond that strengthens us, and guides us toward a higher purpose.

As you go forth, carry with you the spirit of Omega Psi Phi Inc. Let your actions reflect the values we hold dear. Be a friend to those around you, offering kindness, compassion, and understanding. Remember that the essence of our fraternity lies not in titles or achievements, but in the genuine connections we forge with one another.

In unity, we find strength. In friendship, we find our true essence. Let us continue to nurture these bonds, to support one another, and to grow together as brothers.

With heartfelt encouragement,

Chaplain John E. Horton

To give thanks in all circumstances the good and the bad, the known and the unknown,

for this is God’s will in Christ Jesus.

So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.

Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.

It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

-Psalm 133
